Etta Louise Kirby, 89

MILFORD - Etta Louise Kirby of Milford died Saturday, Feb. 24, 2007, in the home of her caregiver in Greenwood. She was 89.

Mrs. Kirby was born in Milford, daughter of the late George F. and Eliza (Coverdale) Killen.

She was a homemaker and a seamstress who enjoyed sewing and crocheting.

Mrs. Kirby was a member of the U.S. Trotting Association.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Edward Kirby; and two brothers, Harvey and Edward Killen.

She is survived by two children, Beverly French and her husband Jack of Milford and Tom Kirby and his wife Barbara of Milford; four grandchildren, Rita Wells, David French, Karen Kirby and Thomas Edward Kirby Jr.; six great-grandchildren, Amie Ashley, John French, Phillip French, Nathan Wells, Alyson Wallace and Asher Wallace; and several nieces and nephews.

Services will be 2 p.m. Thursday in the chapel of Berry-Short Funeral Services, 119 N.W. Front St., Milford, where friends may call from 1 p.m.

Interment will be in Milford Community Cemetery.

Contributions may be made to the Delaware Hospice, 20167 Office Circle, Georgetown, DE 19947.
