Etta Dora Holloway, 90

GEORGETOWN - Etta Dora Holloway, passed away on Thursday, June 18, 2009, in Beebe Medical Center, Lewes. She was 90. Mrs. Holloway was born the daughter of the late Cornelius and Nancy Benge. She retired from the Swift Packing Plant in Georgetown. Mrs. Holloway was a member of the First Baptist Church in Georgetown. She loved her church, and was loyal to her family and friends. Mrs. Holloway enjoyed sewing and making quilts for her family and also working in her flower garden. In addition to both of her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Bassel Holloway; two daughters, Bronda Libengood and Kathy Souza; a son, Tommy Holloway; a sister, Mary Garris; and a brother, Bill Benge. She is survived by a son, Bassel Holloway Jr. and his wife Irene of Dagsboro; a daughter, Josephine Kelly and her husband Doug of Laurel; two brothers, Leff and Burt Benge, both of North Carolina; nine grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and six great-great-grandchildren. A funeral service will be 12 noon Wednesday, June 24, 2009 at the First Baptist Church, 601 N. DuPont Hwy., Georgetown, where friends may call after 11 a.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to the Church. Arrangements by Short Funeral Services, Georgetown.
