Esther Lee Moffett, 63

DOVER - Esther Lee Moffett, of Dover, passed away Sunday, Feb. 24, 2008, in her home, surrounded by her loving family. She was 63.

Esther was born Nov. 15, 1944, in Queenstown, Md., to the late Orville and Esther (Baker) Sorflaten.

She earned a legal secretary degree from the Baltimore Institute, an Associate of Arts in music from Wesley College, a Bachelor of Arts in history from Wesley College and a Master of Arts in history from Washington College.

She enjoyed life as a homemaker and standardbred horse owner.

Esther loved nature, animals, her horses and watching them race.

Her many hobbies included bird watching, music, playing the piano, reading, going to the beach and being with her family and friends.

She was a member of the Delaware Farm Bureau, the U.S. Trotting Association and numerous state standardbred owners associations.

She is survived by her husband of 41 years, William F. Moffett; children, Karla Melissa Moffett of Church Hill, Md., and Angela Kristi Moffett of Middletown; four sisters, Joan Sorflaten of Church Hill, Md., Vada Marks of Groveland, Fla., Judy Walsh of Centreville, Md., and Donna Ward of Allegany, N.Y.; and an extended family of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Services will be 11 a.m. Friday at the Pippin Funeral Home, 119 W. Camden-Wyoming Ave., Wyoming, where friends may call one hour before services.

Burial will be in Lakeside Cemetery, Dover.

Instead of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions to Delaware Hospice, 911 S. DuPont Highway, Lotus Plaza, Dover, DE 19901; or Horse Lovers United, P.O. Box 2744, Salisbury, MD 21802-2744.
