Ervin Lendell 'Lil' Buddy' Williams, 58

MILLSBORO - Ervin Lendell "Lil' Buddy" Williams of Millsboro slipped quietly away to be with the Lord on Monday, Oct. 16, 2007. He was 58.

Son of the late George Lee Williams and Itelia Lewis Williams, Ervin was born in Elizabeth City, N.C. on Dec. 18, 1948.

Mr. Williams received his early education in the Elizabeth City, N.C., school system.

During his younger days, he, his brother George, and several friends could be found sitting on the front porch harmonizing - these boys thought they could sing.

Lil' Buddy, as family affectionately knew him, was a fun and caring person.

He was always willing to lend a helping hand and made numerous friends where he went.

Mr. Williams will be sincerely missed by everyone who knew him.

He relocated to Millsboro in 1992.

During this time, he suffered from upper respiratory problems, and was declared disabled and unable to work.

Mr. Williams was an excellent cook and neat as a pin.

He helped maintain the house and yard for his father and mother.

Mr. Williams was joined in Holy Matrimony with Marcella Lamb, and from this union six children were born.

He leaves to cherish his memory, five sons, Tracy and his wife Verna and Steven and his wife Bernetta, all of Rock Hill, S.C., Ervin of Lakeland, Fla., Kristian and his wife Munrrrah and Aaron, all of Fort Mill, S.C.; one daughter Markis and her husband Maurice, also of Fort Mill; 14 grandchildren, Tiffany, Timothy, Eromina, Kera, Audervisous, Shernetta, Gaberiel, Kristian Jr., Kelise, Kamryn, Kyley, Kaitlyn, Marquis and Donavan; one sister, Barbara Artis and her husband Eddie of Baltimore; one sister-in-law, Clarine Williams of Elizabeth City, N.C.; three aunts, Elise Eason and Nellie Mullen, both of Elizabeth City, N.C.; and Gertie Thomas of Millsboro; one uncle, Leroy Mullen of Georgetown; a special friend, Clara Bailey; a special family friend, Willie Davis; and a host of loving nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Funeral services will be noon today in the St. John 2nd Baptist Church, 26602 Mt. Joy Road, Millsboro, where friends may call one hour prior.

The Rev. Annie J. Custis will be officiating.

A viewing was held from 5-7 p.m. Friday at the church. Friends may also call one hour prior to the service.

Interment will be in the church cemetery.

Arrangements by Deborah E. Harris-Nock Funeral Services, Greenwood.
