Ernst F. Schlegel, 67

DOVER - Ernst F. Schlegel of Dover went to rest Monday, Oct. 22, 2007, in Bayhealth-Kent General Hospital, Dover. He was 67.

He was born March 13, 1940, in Germany, son of the late Friedrich Schlegel and Elizabeth Golubovic.

Ernst worked as a machine tool operator.

He enjoyed German soccer, painting little bird houses and traveling.

Ernst served Jehovah faithfully until he passed away.

He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Anneliese (Lortz) Schlegel; four daughters, Dayana Oczko and Jennifer Reiss, both of Germany, Renate Joshua of Dover and Marika Austin of Wyoming; three sons, Michael Schlegel of Germany, Axel Wetterich of South Carolina and Ralf Wetterich of Germany; a brother, Horst Schlegel of Germany; three sisters, Elvira Hentzschel, Sylvia Tahirovic and Anita Golubovic, all of Germany; 12 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

A memorial service will be 1 p.m. Saturday at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah Witnesses, 450 Upper King Road, Dover.

Arrangements are by Pippin Funeral Home, Wyoming.
