MAGNOLIA - Ernest P. Coulbourne Jr. of Magnolia departed this life Sunday, April 1, 2007, in Bayhealth-Kent General Hospital, Dover. He was 63.
Mr. Coulbourne was born Oct. 1, 1943, to Melinda W. Wigfall and the late Ernest P. Coulbourne Sr.
"Junior" as he was affectionately called by family and friends was educated in the public schools of Somerset County. He later enlisted in the U.S. Army where he was stationed in Fort Hood, Texas.
Mr. Coulbourne made his home in Dover and later in Magnolia.
He was employed at Baltimore Aircoil in Milford from which he retired in 1999. At his time of death, he was employed by the state of Delaware as a client chauffeur. He was a "jack of all trades" and had many hobbies and talents.
Mr. Coulbourne enjoyed model trains and was a member of the Cheswold, De Mode Train Club. He was a home improvement guru and a hotrod car fanatic.
In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by two sons, Darrin Bratten and Charles Phillips.
He leaves to cherish his memories his daughters, Ernesta Coulbourne of Dover, Sheena Pinder of Cambridge, Md., Sandra Phillips of Milford, Cynthia Phillips of New Jersey; his sons, Matthew Phillips of Salisbury, Victor Phillips of Dover; his mother, Melinda Wigfall; sisters, Claudia Hayward of Delmar, Md., Evenair Wigfall of Princess Anne, Md., Carol Flegler of Forestville, Md.; brothers, Raymond Wigfall of Dames Quarter, Md., Marlon Wigfall of Fruitland, Md., Oliver Wigfall of Princess Anne, Md., and Kevin and Darryl Couldbourne of New York; and a loving companion, Connie Lipscomb of Magnolia; an aunt, Ruby White of Salisbury, Md.; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. today in Bennie Smith Funeral Home.
Services will be 11 a.m. Saturday in Macedonia United Methodist Church, Dames Quarter, Md., where friends may view two hours prior.
