Ericka Joy Byler of Rosedale, OH passed away suddenly on July 18, 2022 of Congenital Heart Failure.
Ericka was born on March 30, 1997, in Dover, DE, as the second child and first daughter of Lyndon and Jolene Byler. Her contagious spirit drew people in, and throughout her life, she steadfastly cultivated deep friendships with others. In a crowd, her lively laugh often stood out.
She lived out her passion by working as the Director of Enrollment Services at Rosedale Bible College in Rosedale, OH, where she invested in the lives of former, current and future students.
She served Jesus wholeheartedly, finding delight in playing guitar and leading others to worship him. She attended Lighthouse Fellowship, where she led the Youth Ministry and served on the Worship Team.
Ericka deeply loved her immediate and extended family and intentionally developed a special relationship with each of her siblings. She is survived by her parents, Lyndon and Jolene Byler of Dover, DE; brother, Darryn and wife Danae Byler of Charlotte, NC; brother, Dwight Byler of Dover, DE; sister, Renae Long and husband Calvin of Camden, DE; brother, Devan Byler of Dover, DE; maternal grandmother, Ida Helmuth Trout (Wes) of Nashwauk, MN; paternal grandfather, Joe W. Byler of Dover, DE; and many uncles, aunts and cousins in the Byler and Helmuth Family.
She was preceded in death by her grandfather, Perry Helmuth; and grandmother, Amanda Byler; along with one aunt and three uncles in the Byler family.
A public visitation will take place Sunday, July 24, 2022 from 2:30 to 4:30 & 6 to 8 pm at Maranatha Fellowship Church, 60 Deer Track Lane, Dover, DE 19904
Funeral Service Monday, July 25, 2022, 10 am at Calvary Church, 1141 E. Lebanon Road, Dover, DE 19901. Interment to follow at Sharon Hills Memorial Park, Dover.
