
Villanueva-Santiago, 84
DOVER - Enrigue Villanueva-Santiago passed away Saturday, Jun. 17, 2017, at Kent General Hospital.
Mr. Villanueva-Santiago was born Jul. 4, 1932, in Ciales, Puerto Rico to the late Casimiro Villanueva and Concepcion Santiago.
He served in the United States Army during the Korean War. Mr. Villanueva-Santiago moved to the Bronx, New York in 1962 and worked for the Andrew Freeman Home for the Aged as an accountant for 23 years, until their closing. He then worked for St. Dominic's Home for Children, driving a bus for children with special needs, retiring in the 1990's. In 2004, he and his wife moved to Dover. He attended Holy Cross Catholic Church, Dover. Mr. Villanueva-Santiago was a New York Met's fan, loved to fly single engine planes, and enjoyed road trips.
Enrique is survived by his wife of 60 years, Carmen Villanueva of Dover; daughter, Rose Villanueva of New York; and son, Felix Enrique Villanueva (Yolanda) of Virginia; grandchildren, Stephen (Arielle) and Amanda Villanueva of Virginia; and his beloved cat, Muncho.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 12 p.m., Friday, Jun. 23, 2017, at Holy Cross Catholic Church, 631 S. State Street, Dover. Friends may call from 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday evening at Torbert Funeral Chapel South, 1145 E. Lebanon Road (Rt.10), Dover. Following the Mass, Interment will be held at 2 p.m. at Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Millsboro.
