SMRYNA - Emma Jane Manzi (nee Robbins) passed away Jan. 10, 2016, surrounded by her loving family. Born Nov. 1, 1932 to Edward Franklin and Emily Catherine (Eisenberg) Robbins, of Bridgeport, PA. Emma grew up in Bridgeport, PA, and graduated from Bridgeport High School 1952. After her marriage to her husband Thomas Joseph Manzi, Sr., the U.S. Air Force stationed them in Willow Grove, PA, McGuire AFB, NJ, and finally, at Dover AFB, DE in 1968. She was a full-time mother. As her family grew, she found volunteer work very fulfilling and was involved in the hospital Junior Board. She would babysit her grandchildren and several others over the years. In her retirement years, she and Tom had a business, "Toys by Tom." She loved the interaction with the public and selling his wooden toys. She was an incredible woman with many varied interests. One of her hobbies was baking cakes for all occasions. She was known for her candy apples at Halloween and people from all over Dover would come to get theirs. Her greatest love and joy was spending time with her children and grandchildren. She was always involved and was the biggest fan of her children's and grandchildren's interests from dance recitals to sports. She will be greatly missed by those who knew and loved her. Besides her parents, Emma is preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Joseph Manzi, Sr. Emma is survived by her brother, Donald Robbins of Skippack, PA; children, Karol Klose and her husband Keith of Mullica Hill, NJ; Thomas Manzi, Jr. and wife Rose of Smyrna, DE; Edward Manzi and wife Pamela, of Smyrna, DE. She is also survived by grandchildren, Angela, Jennifer, Paul, Stephanie, Christina, Megan, Erica, Eve, Asa, Michae; and 15 great grandchildren. A Viewing will be held at The Funeral Home of Michael J. Ambruso, located at 1175 S. State St., Dover, DE on Wednesday, Jan. 13, 2016 from 6 until 8 p.m., and again from 11 a.m. to 12 noon on Thursday, Jan. 14. A Service will follow at 12 noon. at The Funeral Home of Michael J. Ambruso. Interment will follow in Sharon Hills Memorial Park, Dover.
