Emily "Peggy" Montgomery, 86

RIDGELY, Md. - Emily "Peggy" Montgomery of Ridgely died Monday, Oct. 8, 2007, at the Caroline Nursing Home in Denton. She was 86.

Born on a farm near Ridgely, Mrs. Montgomery was the daughter of the late Francis and Emily Marguerite (Beaumont) Lynch.

She was raised on the Oakland Farm and was a graduate of the Ridgely High School and Goldie Beacom College in Wilmington, Del.

Mrs. Montgomery lived in Ridgely all of her life.

Her husband, Clayton W. "Dink" Montgomery, died in 1982.

Mrs. Montgomery was a bookkeeper for Saulsbury Brothers in Ridgely, retiring in 1985.

She was an avid bowler and bridge player.

Mrs. Montgomery was a member of the St. Benedict"s Roman Catholic Church in Ridgely.

She was preceded in death by one brother, Francis Beaumont Lynch.

Mrs. Montgomery is survived by two sons, David C. Montgomery of Templeville and Francis L. "Hines" Montgomery and his wife Betsy (Niver) Montgomery of Greensboro, N.C.; one granddaughter, Sara Emily Montgomery; and four sisters, Dorothy Ann Lynch Redden of Ridgely, Mary Emma Lynch Reed of Dayton, Ohio, Bessie Jane Lynch Cutler of Salisbury, and Mabel Etta Lynch Linthicum of Baltimore.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 11 a.m. Saturday in the St. Benedict"s Roman Catholic Church, Central Avenue, Ridgely.

Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at the Moore Funeral Home, 12 S. Second St., Denton.

The interment will be in the Holy Cross Cemetery, Greensboro Road, between Denton and Greensboro.

Following the interment there will be a short reception at the St. Benedict"s Fellowship Hall in Ridgely.

Instead of flowers, the family suggests sending memorial donations to the International Essential Tremor Foundation, P.O. Box 14005, Lenexa, KS 66285-4005.
