DRAWBRIDGE, Md. - Emerson W. Eberspacher of Drawbridge passed away Friday, Feb. 16, 2007, in Peninsula Regional Medical Center, Salisbury. He was 76.
He had been in failing health for the past month and had been a patient at the Peninsula Regional Medical Center for the past week where he passed away on Friday.
Mr. Eberspacher was born Aug. 28, 1930, in Drawbridge, son of the late Frederick Edward and Katherine Metz Eberspacher.
He attended schools at Vienna.
On Dec. 15, 1950, he was married to the former Norma Johnson. She passed away Feb. 18, 2001.
Mr. Eberspacher was engaged in farming in Dorchester County for many years and retired at the age of 62.
He enjoyed gardening and traveling.
Mr. Eberspacher was a member of Friendship United Methodist Church and also attended Chateau Community Church. He was also a member of the Chicone Ruritan Club as well as the Linkwood Salem Volunteer Fire Co.
In addition to his wife and his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Frederick P. Eberspacher; and a sister, Anna Van Cleve.
He is survived by two daughters and their husbands, Cathy E. and David K. Winslow Jr. of Salisbury; Karen E. and Kenneth M. Bounds of Laurel; a son and his wife, Emerson W. "Rusty" Jr. and Lisa T. Eberspacher of Linkwood; six grandchildren, Stephen D. Winslow, Kara E. Winslow, Christopher J. Bounds, Joshua A. Bounds, Todd E. Eberspacher and Carly E. Eberspacher; a great-grandchild, Nicholas A. Bounds; a brother, William H. Eberspacher of Drawbridge; several nieces and nephews; and a special friend, Joyce Cohee.
Friends may call from 7 to 9 p.m. today in Thomas Funeral Home, Cambridge.
A funeral service will be 1 p.m. Wednesday in the funeral home, where friends may call one hour earlier. The Rev. Mary Ann Farnell and the Rev. A. Delmer Willey officiating.
Burial will follow in Dorchester Memorial Park.
Pallbearers will be Mark Eberspacher, Curtis Eberspacher, Jack Van Cleve, William Short, Mark Frase and Stanley McKenrick.
Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, c/o Mrs. Doris Weber, 5163 Maple Dam Road, Cambridge, MD 21613.
