Elva Bowers Forshey, 96

MARYDEL - Elva Bowers Forshey, of Marydel, died Friday, Feb. 15, 2008, in Westminster Village Nursing Home, Dover. She was 96.

Mrs. Forshey was born Nov. 28, 1911, in Altoona, Pa., to the late Robert and Tresa Price Bowers.

Mrs. Forshey was primarily a homemaker, and worked at Green Giant in Woodside.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her daughters, Janette Cheslock and her husband Michael Cheslock, and Naomi Forshey; sons, Charles Forshey and Michael Forshey.

Mrs. Forshey is survived by one son, Gene Forshey and wife Dee of Fayetteville, N.C.; two daughters-in-law, Janet Forshey of Magnolia, and Bertha Forshey of Magnolia; four grandsons, Michael J. Cheslock III and wife Barbara of Marydel, Dennis Cheslock of Magnolia, Steve Forshey and wife Ann of Wyoming, and Gene Forshey Jr. and his wife of Fayetteville; five granddaughters, Janice Pendleton and husband John of Marydel, Charlotte Clark of Magnolia, Chrissy Tayner and husband of Fayetteville, Kimbely Rodan and husband Larry of Fayetteville, and Carla Goodman of Delaware; four step-grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; and eight great-great-grandchildren.

Funeral Services will be 2 p.m. Thursday in Torbert Funeral Chapel, 61 S. Bradford St., Dover, where friends may call one hour prior.

Interment will be in Sharon Hills Memorial Park, Dover.
