HOCKESSIN - Elsie L. Springer, of Hockessin, died Thursday, Oct. 18, 2007, in Delaware Hospice Home, Hockessin. She was 86.
She was born in Denton, Md., to the late Henry and Bertha Dunning.
Mrs. Springer was a proud wife of a World War II veteran, whose husband served with the 4th Armored Division under General Patton.
Mrs. Springer was a homemaker.
Her favorite things to do included sewing, embroidery and canning vegetables.
She grew many of her own vegetables and always had a nice garden.
Mrs. Springer was a very spiritual woman who enjoyed reading the Bible, with the 23rd Psalm her favorite passage.
Mrs. Springer was a member of the Magnolia Methodist Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Ernest Springer.
She is survived by a son, Benjamin W. Hollinger of Milford; daughters Rosalee Springer Hampton, Va., and Elsie Ann Springer of Charlotte, N.C.; and two grandchildren.
Graveside services will be 11 a.m. Thursday in Hollywood Cemetery, Harrington.
