SEAFORD - Ellis R. "Shad" Kyttle Jr., formerly of Seaford, died Tuesday, Oct. 24, 2006, in the Herman M. Holloway Campus, New Castle. He was 78.
Mr. Kyttle was born in Laurel, son of the late Ellis R. Sr. and Minnie Louise (Swain) Kyttle.
He was a retired U.S. Army veteran.
Mr. Kyttle retired from C.C. Oliphant in the sheet metal shop. He had also worked for Carmine Hatcheries.
He loved his family and traveling to Nags Head, N.C., with his wife.
Mr. Kyttle loved cats and was an avid fisherman.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Jane Diane (Bryan) Kyttle; and a brother, Charles Robert Kyttle.
He is survived by a sister and a brother-in-law, Lois (Kyttle) and Jack Cordrey of Laurel; and several nieces and nephews.
Services will be 1 p.m. Friday in Hannigan, Short, Disharoon Funeral Home, 700 West St., Laurel, where friends may call one hour earlier. The Rev. John Van Tine will officiate.
Burial will follow in Odd Fellows Cemetery, Laurel.
The family suggests memorial contributions to Delaware Hospice, 20617 Office Circle, Georgetown, DE 19947.
