Elizabeth Thacker Padgett

Elizabeth Thacker Padgett, 85

REHOBOTH BEACH - Elizabeth Thacker Padgett, of Rehoboth Beach, passed away peacefully at her residence on Saturday, Feb. 2, 2008. She was 85.

She was born on May 26, 1922, in Charlottesville, Va., daughter of the late Everette Thacker and Katherine Estes Thacker.

A longtime resident of the shore area, she retired in 1987 as a unit secretary after 17 years of service for Beebe Medical Center.

For many years she attended Whites Chapel United Methodist Church.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Lamar Padgett Sr. in 1975; and a daughter, Ann Snowden in 2001.

She is survived by two sons, Lamar P. Padgett and wife Geraldine and Alan Padgett, all of Rehoboth Beach; nine grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchilden,

Funeral Services will be 7 p.m. Wednesday at Parsell Funeral Homes & Crematorium, Atkins-Lodge Chapel, 16961 Kings Highway, Lewes, where friends may call after 6 p.m.

Services will be conducted by Delaware Hospice Chaplain Gary Tulak.

Interment will be private.

Instead of flowers, memorials are suggested to Delaware Hospice, 20167 Office Circle, Georgetown, DE 19947.
