Elizabeth Patricia 'Liz' 'Lizzy' (Brown) Nichols, 50
HARRINGTON - Elizabeth Patricia "Liz" "Lizzy" Brown Nichols of Harrington died Monday, Dec. 25, 2006, in Bayhealth-Milford Memorial Hospital. She was 50.
Mrs. Nichols was born in Easton, Md., daughter of the late Thomas Sr. and Lucille Brown.
She was educated at North Caroline High School. During her high school years she met the love of her life, Earl Nichols Sr., who later became her husband. They were married Dec. 6, 1975.
Mrs. Nichols was a certified nurse's assistant until her health began to fail.
She was a faithful wife, loving and caring mother, and fun-loving friend. She could light up any room with a joke and her smile and console a hurting heart with a word of encouragement.
Mrs. Nichols was a member of the Holiness Church, Denton, Md. After much prayer and study, she would say, "God led me to the Seventh-Day Adventist message." In 1979, she became a member of the Mount Carmel Seventh Day Adventist Church where she was a faithful instrument in leading her sisters and friends to the Seventh Day Adventist message. She was a true witness for Christ.
She loved and taught the fact of a Heavenly Sanctuary. She was an encourager, comforter, friend and ambassador for the true and living God. She loved and lived God's principles of truth.
Mrs. Nichols was a faithful light bearer for the Lord. Her privileges and duties included Ministry of Music, Women's Ministry assistant, leader and bay area leader and retreat coordinator of the Women's Ministry Department, Sabbath school teacher and Sabbath school superintendent, Bible worker, pathfinder director and master guide, sanctuary choir director and a member of the chancel choir. She was also on the senior usher board, the Light Bearer's Prison ministry team, the hospital team and a faithful deaconess.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Thomas Brown Jr.
She is survived by her devoted husband and best friend, Earl Nichols Sr.; two sons, Earl Nichols Jr. of Glen Burnie, Md. and Timothy Nichols of Wilmington; a daughter, Cortress Nichols of Harrington; a daughter-in-law, Jessica Nichols of Glen Burnie; a future daughter-in-law, Leia Hall of Wilmington; a grandson, Enriquez; five sisters and two brothers-in-law, Esther and James Nichols Sr. of Harrington, Pauline and George Butler of Denton, Sharon Brown of Denton, Joyce Hopkins of Dover and Sandra Brown-Robinson of Union City, Calif.; three brothers, Clarence Acree of Greensboro, Md., George Brown and Gregory Brown, both of Denton; five aunts; five uncles; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. today in Mount Carmel Seventh-Day Adventist Church, 103 Mechanic St., Harrington, where friends may call two hours earlier.
Burial will be in Williamsville Cemetery, Williamsville.
