It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Elander B. Dale (Edye), who received her wings at home in Dover, Delaware.
Elander was born in Brooklyn, New York, on December 18, 1965, to the late Donald and Brenda Jones. Edye was a proud Veteran of the Army National Guard who served with honor and dedication. Above all, she loved God and lived her life guided by faith, compassion, and service to others.
She had a passion for cooking, especially baking from scratch, and found joy in sharing her creations with family and friends. A lifelong learner, she cherished education, loved reading, and was always eager to expand her knowledge. She also enjoyed planting and nurturing gardens, finding peace and fulfillment in helping things grow.
Edye will be remembered for her strength, kindness, wisdom, generosity, and unwavering love for family and community.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Lorenzo Dale, who passed away on March 28, 2018. Elander is survived by her son, Andre Jermale Jones of Wilmington, DE; three grandchildren, Andrew Jermale Jones Jr., Alisha Jones, and Andrea Jones, all of Wilmington, DE; and three sisters, Marilyn Rodriguez of Bel Air, MD, Brenda Perez of East Stroudsburg, PA, and Tiffney Jones of Dover, DE.
