SMYRNA - Effie L. Shoun, of Smyrna, passed away at Kent General Hospital in Dover, on Thursday, March 10, 2011. She was 92. Ms. Shoun was born Jan. 23, 1919, in Mountain City, Tenn., the daughter of the late Ed Sturgill and Minnie Simmons. She was a devoted member of Kingdom Hall of Jehovah Witness of Smyrna. She enjoyed reading and shopping. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Galen Logan Shoun. She is survived by two sons, H. Keith Shoun of Townsend, and Phillip D. Shoun of Smyrna; two daughters, Sara Lucille Lewis of Drumore, Pa., and Karen Wainscott of Atlanta, Ga.; and a half-sister, Thelma Lipford of Mountain City.
