Fruitland, Md. - Edwin Leanel Showell departed this life on Wednesday, July 8, 2015, at Peninsula Regional Medical Center in Salisbury, Md. Born in Wilmington, he was the son of Martha Morris of Parsonsburg, Md., Edward Henry, Jr. of Berlin, Md. and George Payton of Mappsville, Va. He was employed by the State Highway Administration in Princess Anne, Md. as a Facilities Maintenance Tech II. In addition to his parents and stepfather, loving memories will remain with: his wife, Tonekia Showell of Fruitland; four sons, Ramel Showell of Berlin, Keyshon Showell of Princess Anne, Keshawn Marshall, and Akeem McBride, both of Salisbury; two daughters, Tamara Showell of Washington, D.C. and Dasiah Molock of Cambridge, Md.; three brothers, Edward Henry III of Cherokee, Ala., Troy Henry of Ocean City, Md. and Nathan Woods of New York; two sisters, Shelly M. Strand (William) of Salisbury and Vanessa Henry of Berlin; his maternal grandmother, Madeline Showell of Dagsboro; his paternal grandmother, Elizabeth Henry of Berlin; his mother-in-law, Deborah Townsend of Fruitland; his father-in-law, Tony Townsend of Bishopville, Md.; one special nephew, Valdase Morris of Baltimore, Md.; two special nieces, Valnisha Morris of Salisbury and Da'Airah Foreman of Berlin; several other nephews, nieces, cousins, relatives, in-laws, and friends. Mr. Showell will lie in repose on Saturday, July 18, 2015, from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. at Calvary Pentecostal Church, 13325 Worcester Highway, Bishopville. The funeral service will begin at 12 p.m. Interment will follow the service. A ministry of comfort and dignity is being provided by Lewis N. Watson Funeral Home, P.A. in Salisbury.
