Edward Williams

SEAFORD - Edward Williams departed this life on Wednesday, Sept. 28, 2016, at Nanticoke Memorial Hospital in Seaford. Born in Seaford, he was the son of the late George Brown, Sr., and Pauline Williams Brown. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Delma Williams. Mr. Williams was a member of Clarence Street Church of God, where he served as a Sunday school teacher, choir member, and trustee. He served in the United States Army during World War II. Prior to retiring, he worked as a sexton at the Bank of Delaware in Seaford. He will be lovingly remembered by three sons, Lorenzo J. E. (Carolyn) Williams, Sr., Gregory L. (Vioncia) Williams, and Roy E. Knox, Sr.; one daughter, Gloria W. (Bishop Jesse E. C.) Abbott; three adopted daughters, Persphonie Whaley, Susie (John) Tolliver, and Tomika (Joel) King; three sisters, Evelyn Batson, Audrey Fooks, and Gaynell (Eugene) Abbott; 15 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; several nephews, nieces, cousins, other in-laws, relatives, and friends. Mr. Williams will lie in repose on Saturday, Oct. 8, 2016, from 10 to 11 a.m. at Clarence Street Church of God, 744 Clarence Street, Seaford. The funeral service will begin at 11 a.m. Bishop Dr. Carlton Cannon, Jr. will be the officiant and Bishop Jesse E. C. Abbott will be the eulogist. Interment will be held Monday, Oct. 10, 2016, at 10 a.m. at the Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 26669 Patriots Way, Millsboro. A ministry of comfort and dignity is being provided by Lewis N.
