Edward Johnson Ross

DOVER - Edward Johnson Ross, formerly of Denton, passed away on Friday, Jan. 13, 2017 at Bayhealth Kent General in Dover. He was born on July 24, 1934 in Goldsboro, Md., to the late William and Evelyn Johnson Ross. A lifetime resident of the area, Mr. Ross was a 1951 graduate from Greensboro High School. He went on to serve four years in the United States Army and worked as a Mill Wright at General Foods. On June 30, 1979 he married Else Adelhelm in Easton, Md. They have two daughters, Shelly A.R. Gray, of Goldsboro, Md., and Christa Mezick-Collison, of Federalsburg, Md. He was a member of the Masonic Temple Lodge 128 in Denton,Md. Mr. Ross is preceded in death by his first wife, Ann Butler Ross. In addition to his wife and daughters, Mr. Ross is survived by his grandchildren, Jason Gray, Amy Gray, Bryan Conaway, Justin Conaway and Patrick Maguire. He is also survived by his beloved poodle, Lili. A graveside service will be held at St. Paul's Lutheran Church Cemetery, 12095 Blades Road, Cordova, MD 21625, on Wednesday, Jan. 18, 2017 at 11 a.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Masonic Temple Lodge #128, P.O.
