Edna Verna Pfieffer

WYOMING - Edna Verna Pfieffer was called home to the Lord Monday, Feb. 20, 2017.
She was born Apr. 19, 1928, in Henderson, Md., to the late Joseph C. Steele and Mae Steele. Mrs. Pfieffer was a loving daughter, sister, wife, mother and grandmother.
Mrs. Pfieffer worked for Playtex from 1946 till 1950 and then General Foods for 24 years as a machine operator, retiring in 1988. She was a member of Modern Maturity Center, Camden/Wyoming Moose Lodge and Harvest Years Senior Center, where she had many friends and enjoyed the fellowship, taking trips and dancing. She enjoyed singing gospel, gardening, traveling and day trips with family. Her greatest joy was loving the Lord and her family.
She is rejoicing with those who preceded her in death; her beloved parents; her loving husband of 33 years, Herman, 1983; her very special son, William H. Pfieffer, 2013; she is also rejoicing with her brother, Joseph Steele; sisters, and their husbands, Esther (Floyd) Burlingame, Clara (Cleveland) Camper, Alta (Bobby) Wingard, Mary (Arthur) Hurd, Ruth Steele; half-brothers and -sisters, Amos (Shirley) Jones, Robert (Ethel) Steele, Emma Kushmall; brothers-in-law, Fred C. Pfieffer, John Lucks, Morris Melvin, Wally Townson and Gaylord Durham.
She is survived by her daughter, Wanda Melvin Pfieffer and son-in-law, Edward Melvin, of Dover; daughter-in-law, Patricia Pfieffer, of Wyoming; granddaughter, Laura E. Pfieffer, of Sandersville, Ga.; grandson, Michael Kelliher, of Wilmington; sisters, Anna Mae Durham, of Dover and Alice Lucks, of Wyoming; many nieces, nephews and many special friends/caregivers.
Funeral services will be held 12 p.m., Saturday, Feb. 25, 2017, at Torbert Funeral Chapel South, 1145 E. Lebanon Road (Rt.10), Dover. Friends may call from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. Interment will be in Odd Fellows Cemetery, Camden.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions be made to Blood Bank of Delmarva, 100 Hygeia Drive, Newark, DE 19713 or Delaware Hospice Center, 100 Patriots Way, Milford, DE 19963.
