DOVER - Edna Jean Reed, of Dover, died Monday, Jan. 31, 2011, at home surrounded by her family. She was 80. Mrs. Reed was born April 11, 1930, in Wilmington, to the late Park J. McCann Sr. and Irene Taylor McCann. She along with her husband owned and operated the Reed Oil Company and the Camden Dairy Queen, until their retirement. Mrs. Reed enjoyed reading, baking, and she loved to go shopping with her favorite loving daughter-in-law, Janet. She was a dedicated wife and mother and she loved her family very much, for whom she took great pride in and care of. She had a special place in her heart for all her grandchildren whom she would spoil all the time. She was a very giving soul and helped many people over the years. She graduated from A.I Dupont High School class of 1948. She will be dearly and sadly missed by her loving family and friends. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Ernest and Norman McCann. She is survived by her husband of 52 years, George Reed Jr. of Dover; sons, George Reed III and his wife Janet of Dover, David Scott Reed Sr. of Dover; brother, Park J. McCann Jr. of New Castle; sisters, Betty Larrimore of Summerfield, Fla., Patti Fulton of North East, Md., and Nancy McCann of Newark; grandchildren, Paul and Dylan Reed, David Scott Jr., Timothy, Mason, Daytona, Faith, and Patience Reed; and numerous nieces and nephews. Graveside services will be 1 p.m., Friday, Feb. 4, 2011, at Odd Fellows Cemetery, Camden. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions be made to Alzheimer's Association, P.O.
