SLAUGHTER BEACH - Edith S. Fine of Slaughter Beach, formerly of Dover, N.J., died Thursday, Jan. 3, 2008, in Bayhealth-Milford Memorial Hospital. She was 95.

Mrs. Fine was born in Wharton, N.J., daughter of the late David and Minnie (Rickley) Stephens.

She worked as a secretary at the First Presbyterian Church in Dover, N.J., for 23 years, retiring in 1975 and moving to Slaughter Beach.

Mrs. Fine was a member of First Presbyterian Church of Milford.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Helen Stephens.

She is survived by her husband of 75 years, Russell V. Fine; a son and daughter-in-law, Russell and Susan Fine of San Antonio, Texas; two daughters, Barbara Pearce of Milford and Janice Fine of Washington, N.J.; a sister, Doris Fitze of Wharton; a brother and sister-in-law, David and Dottie Stephens of Stockholm, N.J.; four granddaughters, Kathleen, Lauren, Michelle and Joy Lynn; 10 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.

Memorial services will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at First Presbyterian Church of Milford, South Walnut and Southeast Front streets.

The family requests that there be no flowers. Contributions in Mrs. Fine's memory may go to the First Presbyterian Church of Milford, P.O. Box 172, Milford, DE 19963.
