Edith F. Killen, 93

FELTON - Edith F. Killen, age 93, of Felton, passed away Sunday, July 12, 2009 in her home. Mrs. Killen was born in Felton, daughter of the late Inskip Cooper and Anna Jump Cooper. She retired after working 20 years as a Nurses Aid with Fletchers Nursing Home in Felton. Edith enjoyed crossword puzzles and was an avid baseball fan. She especially loved the Philadelphia Phillies. She was preceded in death, by her husband: Elwood Killen Sr.; and five children, Wayne, Howard, Ann, Jackie and Ronnie Seward. She is survived by three children, Edwin Seward, Ft. Worth, Texas, Hazel Seward and Elwood Killen Jr., both of Felton; 11 grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren; beloved daughter-in-law, Romayne B. Seward, Camden; stepdaughter, Barbara McCloskey and her husband James, New Castle; brother, Jack Clark, Frederica; aunt, Nettie Jump, Denton, Md.; and her dog, Snowball. A funeral service will be noon Thursday, July 16, in the chapel of Berry-Short Funeral Home, Main Street, Felton, where friend may call after 10 a.m. Burial will be in Hopkins Cemetery, Felton. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to Felton Community Fire Co., P.O. Box 946, Felton, DE 19943; or Delaware Hospice, 100 Patriots Way, Milford, DE 19963.
