Earl Thomas Shane, 89
SMYRNA, DE - Earl Thomas Shane passed away Tuesday, August 30, 2022.
Earl was born April 5, 1933, in Smyrna, Delaware, to the late Roy Voss Shane and Elizabeth Unruh Shane. Earl was the oldest of seven siblings.
He served as a Corporal in the Army. Earl thrived in his job as a Car Salesman and Truck Manager at Willis Chevrolet where he sold 11,000 vehicles over his 47 year career. Earl never met a stranger and always knew someone wherever he went. He will be remembered for his love of family and friends, his sense of humor, and his pride in all that he had accomplished.
In addition to his parents; Earl was preceded in death by his wife, Shirley Cox Shane; his sister, Patsy Severe; and his brother, Kenny Shane.
Mr. Shane is survived by his children, Terri Willis (Robert) of Middletown, DE, Gary Shane (Dawn) of Smyrna, DE, Eric Shane of Lewes, DE; and five grandchildren.
The family is thankful for the many family members, friends, and caregivers who visited and cared for him over the past several months.
Memorial services will be held at 2 p.m., Wednesday, September 7, 2022, at Torbert Funeral Chapel, 1145 E. Lebanon Road, Dover, Delaware. Friends may visit two hours prior from, 12 p.m. - 2 p.m. Interment will be held 11 a.m., Thursday, September 8, 2022, at Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Bear, Delaware.
Casual Attire - no ties required!
