LINCOLN - Earl Harry Holden of Lincoln, formerly of New Castle, passed away peacefully Sunday, Nov. 18, 2007, at home.

Mr. Holden was born in Wilmington, son of Susan C. Blunt-Holden and the late William J. Holden.

He was a U.S. Navy veteran, serving in the Vietnam War.

Mr. Holden was a retired union carpenter millwright out of Local 626, New Castle.

He was a member of the Milford Moose Lodge 2316, where he was most recently serving as the junior governor, and a lifetime mason of St. John's Masonic Lodge 2, AF & AM of New Castle.

Mr. Holden was also a member of Abate of Delaware in New Castle County.

He loved fishing, boating, participating in events at the Moose Lodge and riding his Harley-Davidson.

Mr. Holden is survived by his partner, Anna Ruth Yost; his mother, Susan C. Blunt-Holden of Smyrna; two sons, Donald Holden and his wife Barbara of Claymont and William J. and his wife Amanda of Bear; two daughters, Denise M. and her husband Bruce Hampton Jr. of Newark and Cherise M. Holden and her companion Phillip A Porche Jr. of Smyrna; five brothers, Benjamin Campbell and his wife Marlyn of Holloway Terrace, William J. Holden and his wife Jane of Rising Sun, Md., Robert W. Holden and his wife Delores of Townsend, and Reggie Holden and his companion Dawn Waller and Scott A. Holden and his wife Susan, all of Newark; two sisters, Susan L. Gonzon and her husband Joseph and Dolores A. and Donna Holden, all of Smyrna; as well as numerous grandchildren, nieces, nephews and many other extended family members.

Friends may call from noon to 2 p.m. Saturday in the Lofland Funeral Home, 102 Lakeview Ave., Milford, where services will be 2 p.m.

Burial services will be 11 a.m. Monday in the chapel of Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Patriots Way, Millsboro.

Instead of flowers, the family suggests contributions to the Milford Loyal Order of Moose Lodge 2316, 20142 Beaver Dam Road, Milford, DE 19963.
