Earl E. Clark Jr.

ELLENDALE - Earl E. Clark Jr., of Ellendale, passed away on Sunday, Nov. 28, 2010, at Bayhealth at Milford Memorial Hospital. He was 85. He was born in Ellendale, the son of the late Earl E. Sr. and Bessie (Millman) Clark. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy, serving during World War II. He was retired from the Delaware State Police, he was Staff Captain in 1967, Pre-sentence investigator in Superior Court, then he was a Court Bailiff in Kent & Sussex County for 17 years. He was a lifetime Member and past president of the Ellendale Vol. Fire Company. His hobbies included harness racing and quail hunting. He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Betty A. Clark; children, Edward E. Clark and his wife Shirley and Patricia E. Shannon and her husband Brian, all of Seaford; one sister, Margie L. Hester and her husband Hal of Siesta Key, Fla.; four grandchildren, Wade,Chad, Annette Clark and Pamela A. Benton; and three great grandchildren, Christopher, Eric and Samantha. Funeral Services will be held Wednesday, Dec. 1, 2010 at 2 p.m. in the chapel of Berry-Short Funeral Home, 119 NW Front St., Milford, where friends may call after 12 noon. Interment will be in Ellendale Cemetery, Ellendale. Contributions may be made to: Ellendale U.M. Church, 601 Main St., Ellendale, DE 19941.
