SMYRNA - Earl C. Ford, "Buck" peacefully passed away with his daughter, Nancy, by his side, on Wednesday, March 23, 2016 at the Delaware Veterans Home in Milford. Buck, an only child, was born July 25, 1920 in Smyrna, to the late Vernon and Florence Ford. Buck proudly served his country in the U.S. Marine Corp during WWII and the Korean War. He retired in 1984 as the General Manager of Clements Supply in Clayton, where he had worked decades. Buck was the proud Scout Master of Smyrna Boy Scout Troop 135 for 35 years. He was honored in 1964 by The Smyrna Rotary and Citizens of Smyrna for his meritous service to Scouting. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Ruth Ford. He is survived by his children, Nancy Norton of Allendale, N.J., Larry Ford of Smyrna and Jeannie Edmonds of Louisville, Ky.; four grandchildren, Scott Norton of Brooklyn, N.Y.; Alisha Carti of Franklin Lakes, N.J.; Jeremiah Ford of Hemet, Calif.; and Billy Edmonds of Ky.; and four great-grandchildren, Cameron, Christian, and McKenna Carti of Franklin Lakes, N.J. and Roman Ford of Hemet, Calif. A service will be held on Wednesday, March 30, 2016 at 12:00pm noon at Faries Funeral Chapel, located at 29 S. Main St. Smyrna, DE. The family will greet friends beginning at 11:00am before the service. Burial with military honors will follow at Odd Fellows Cemetery in Smyrna.
