Dylan Blake Deshields, 7

DELMAR - Dylan Blake Deshields of Delmar passed away Tuesday, Oct. 2, 2007, from injuries sustained in an automobile accident near Delmar. He was 7.

Born in Seaford on Oct. 19, 1999, he was the son of Brian Deshields of Seaford and Stacy Messick of Delmar.

Dylan attended second grade at the North Laurel Elementary School.

He was member of the Western Sussex County Boys and Girls Club.

Dylan loved playing flag football, going to "the drags," watching race cars and enjoyed working on cars.

He was and avid Philadelphia Eagles football fan.

He was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Keith West, in 2006.

In addition to his parents, Dylan is survived by his paternal grandparents, Rosa Custis and Jennis Bowden; maternal grandmother, Donna Cecil of Laurel; maternal great-grandparents, Robert and Adell Whaley of Laurel and Mary Hearn; his brothers, Brian Fortt, Britt Williams and Brian Williams, all of Seaford, and Elijah Deshields and Jordan Bailey, both of Laurel; his sisters, Angelica Matthews and Brianna Messick, both of Laurel, and Aleigha Deshields of Seaford; and many aunts, uncles and cousins.

A celebration of his life will be 2 p.m. today at Christ the Cornerstone Community Church, Seaford Laurel Road, Laurel, where friends may call one hour prior.

Internment will follow in Odd Fellows Cemetery, Laurel.

The Rev. Rick Elzey and the Rev. Susie Jarrett will officiate.

Memorial contributions may be sent to he Dylan B. Deshields Trust Fund, c/o County Bank, 1122 S. Central Ave. Laurel, DE 19956.
