HARTLY - Duane W. Hall of Hartly died Saturday, Feb. 9, 2008, in the Manor Care Nursing Home, Wilmington. He was 83.
Mr. Hall was born Dec. 6, 1924, in LeRoy, N.Y., to the late Frank and Anna Mae (White) Hall.
He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II, serving as a military policeman, and did some service at the White House.
In 1964, Mr. Hall moved to Dover when The Jell-O division was bought out by General Foods. He was a packaging mechanic for General Foods for 39 years, retiring in 1983.
He was a member of the G.F. Archery Club and enjoyed hunting, fishing and car racing, both NASCAR and Formula One.
Mr. Hall also enjoyed taking his wife to weekend craft fairs.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary (Sinclair) Hall, in 2006.
He is survived by two sons, Brian Hall of Smyrna and David Hall and his wife Eileen of Wilmington; a sister-in-law, Betty Sinclair of Pavilion, N.Y.; three grandchildren, Christopher, Patrick and Andrew Hall; and a cousin, Bernice Parker of Rochester, N.Y.
Funeral services will be at noon on Saturday at Torbert Funeral Chapel, 61 S. Bradford St., Dover, where friends may call one hour prior to the service time.
Interment will be in the Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Bear.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions to the American Diabetes Association, 100 W. Tenth St., Suite 1002, Wilmington, DE 19801.
