Kenton, Jr., 60
Duane A. "Scutchie" Kenton, Jr. passed away at home on Saturday, June 25, 2022, from complications from COPD. Scutchie was the oldest child of Joyce A. (Webb) Kenton and Duane A. Kenton, Sr. of Lincoln.
Scutchie attended Milford High School and then entered the Marines under the buddy system with his good friend Jaimes Kidd. While in the Marines, he obtained the sharpshooter designation. He worked for the family businesses for many years - D & J Recycling, Kenton Crate and Pallet, and Scutch's Place Liquor Store. He also was a truck driver and dispatcher for Blue Hen Lines, Inc. before starting his own trucking company Buccaneer Express, Inc. As of late, he helped family friends Eugene Mills and Glenn Watson with their race car traveling for parts, etc. He also helped his longtime friend Roger Wood at God's Way. We could write a book on his many stories from tales of his adventures in his lifetime. He had a huge heart and never met a stranger. He loved his family, music, football (Raiders), horse racing, fast cars, coffee and cats, especially his beloved Cat Wild Child. He was preceded in death by his father in 2021.
He is survived by his mother, Joyce A. (Webb) Kenton; his wife, Sue; one daughter, Danielle Dixon; two grandchildren, Cali and Luke; his siblings, Cyrstal Lynch (Randy), Randy Kenton (Missy), Fred Kenton, Yvonne Lynch (Ronnie), Darlene Bates (Dave), and Brother-in-Law John Glasco; 11 nephews, one niece, several great nieces and nephews, multiple extended family and friends that were very dear to his heart.
A visitation will be held from 1 - 3 p.m. on Saturday, July 30, 2022, at the Milford Church of the Nazarene, 11 N.W. Salevan Place, Milford where memorial services will be held from 3 - 4 p.m.
In lieu of flowers the family would appreciate contributions to the First State Animal Center and S.P.C.A., 32 Shelter Circle, Camden, DE 19934.
Arr. by Lofland Funeral Home, Milford. Letters of condolence may be shared with the family at www.loflandandmcknatt.com.
