DOVER - Dr. William Price Roe, son of Price William Roe and Grace Elliott Roe of Dover, died Sept. 17, 2011, in Atlantic Beach, Fla. Born in Cheswold, he was 88 years old. He is survived by his wife, Jean Salmons Roe; and two daughters, Kathy Roe and Janis Roe. He served in the United State Army as a medic during World War II. He earned a Bachelor of Science degree from University of Pennsylvania, followed by a Master of Science and Phd from Vanderbilt University. He served as Vice President and Director of Research at American Smelting and Refining Company until his retirement. He was a life long contributor to Vanderbilt University.
