Dr. Robert D. 'Bo' McNeil, 45

STEVENSVILLE, Md. - Dr. Robert D. "Bo" McNeil, succumbed to a heart attack on April 21, 2009 at Anne Arundel Medical Center. He was 45. He was born on Sept. 11, 1963, and raised in Dover, Del. Bo began his career as a Doctor of Medical Dentistry in 1995 in Severna Park. He graduated from Penn State University in 1985 and Temple University School of Dentistry in 1992. He interned in 1993 at the Medical Center of Delaware, and completed his residency at Christiana Hospital and Medical Center, Delaware, in 1994. He later became an addiction specialist and established, in 2004, the "Learning To Live" counseling program in Stevensville. Dr. McNeil was ordained in 2004 as an ordained minister of the World Christianship Ministries. As a member of the Dental Wellness Committee of Maryland and the National Council on alcoholism and Drug Dependency, Dr. McNeil lectured at the dental professional schools in Baltimore. Bo was a skilled magician and performed for local events. He was an avid reader and enjoyed music and loved teaching his daughters about science and nature. His other interests included movies, martial arts and tai chi as well as being an avid fisherman. He also had a love for the ocean. He was preceded in death by his father, Robert A. McNeil. He is survived by his beloved wife, Erica McNeil; and his two daughters, Margaret and Mandi, all of Stevensville; his mother, Jacqueline H. McNeil of Dover; two sisters, Lisa Boothe and her husband David of Smyrna, Del., and Amanda Robinson and her husband William "Pistol" of Ball Ground, Ga.; five nieces and two nephews as well as one great-niece mourn his passing. A memorial service will be 1 p.m. Thursday, April 30, at the Pippin Funeral Home, 119 W. Camden-Wyoming Ave., Wyoming, where friends may gather one hour before services.
