Dorothy Wilma Adams, 86

GEORGETOWN - Dorothy Wilma Adams of Georgetown died Friday, Dec. 8, 2006, in Bayhealth-Milford Memorial Hospital. She was 86.

Mrs. Adams was born in Milton, daughter of the late Harry Paynter and Louise (Griffin) Johnson.

She was a World War II U.S. Army veteran. She received the Victory Medal and Meritorius Unit Service Plaque.

Mrs. Adams worked in the Cytogenetic Lab at the Stockley Center for 25 years retiring in 1980.

She loved to be surrounded by her loving family, enjoyed generations of Little League games and camping vacations to Trailsend Campground.

Mrs. Adams was a member of the Epworth Fellowship Church, Laurel and Disabled American Veterans.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two husbands, Howard A. Walstead Sr. and Gerald J. Walker; a brother, Uhland H. Johnson Sr.; and a son, Howard "Bud" Walstead Jr., in 2005.

She is survived by her third husband of 37 years, Roscoe B. Adams; a daughter, Denise W. Walstead of Milton; two sons and two daughters-in-law, Gary J.H. and Bonnie S. Walstead of Georgetown and James J. and Elizabeth Walker of Clearwater, Fla.; a daughter-in-law, Bonnie L. Walstead of Milton; two sisters, Jean Murphy of Milton and Lillian Mitchell of Virginia Beach, Va.; 11 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.

Services will be 1 p.m. Monday in the chapel of Short Funeral Services, 416 Federal St., Milton, where friends may call one hour earlier.

Burial will be in Henlopen Memorial Park, Milton.

Instead of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions to the American Cancer Society, P.O. Box 163, Salisbury, MD 21803-0163.
