WILMINGTON - Dorothy N. Dunsmore left us to be with the Lord on May 1, 2015. Born in 1923 in Kennedyville, Md., Dorothy and her family moved to Wilmington, where she attended Goldey Beacom College. She began working for Hercules in the File Room, and was married to her husband, Henry, for over 69 years before he preceded her in death last year. She was an active member of Aldersgate United Methodist Church over the years, enjoyed the Jersey Shore with her husband every weekend and was a voracious knitter. Dorothy was also preceded in death by her brothers, William and Charles Nickerson. Dorothy is survived by her loving niece, Fay Sweeney; her nephews, William and David Nickerson, and their spouses and children and grandchildren, who knew her as "Aunt Dot." A funeral service will be held on Fri., May 8 at 11:30 a.m. at the McCrery and Harra Funeral Home, 3924 Concord Pike, Wilmington, DE 19803. Visitation will begin at 11:00. There will be a luncheon at Aldersgate Church following the service. Interment will follow the luncheon at Gracelawn Memorial Park.
