REHOBOTH BEACH - Dorothy (Fisher) Morgan of Rehoboth Beach, formerly of Newark, passed away Tuesday, Sept. 18, 2007, at the Green Valley Terrace Nursing Home, Millsboro. She was 82.
Mrs. Morgan was born Feb. 16, 1925, in Wilmington, daughter of the late Herbert and Florence Fisher.
She was educated in the Wilmington public schools, graduating from Wilmington High School, class of 1943.
She married her husband of 58 years, William "Bill" Morgan, on July 16, 1949.
Mrs. Morgan was employed by F.W. Woolworth, American Viscose, Atlas Powder and for 20 years by the University of Delaware, retiring in 1988.
She loved to attend the Nur Shrine conventions and U.S. Navy reunions with her husband.
Mrs. Morgan was a member of Epworth United Methodist Church, Rehoboth Beach, and an active participant of the Elizabeth Circle.
Prior to moving to Sussex County, she was a 30 year member of Christiana United Methodist Church, and sang in the church choir and taught Sunday School.
Mrs. Morgan also loved music and theatre, traveling, cruising, and she was a voracious reader; most of all she loved her family.
In addition to her beloved husband, she is survived by three daughters, Jeannie Moore and her husband Chaplain "Colonel" Gary of Easton, Md., and Diane Conte and Faye Duffy, both of Newark; two grandsons, David Webster and Nicholas Conte; two granddaughters, Courtney Moore and Jillian Duffy; one great-grandson, David Webster Jr.; her sister, Virginia Rossiter and her husband Paul; one niece; and two nephews.
The family would like to thank Dorothy"s many caregivers from Delaware Hospice and Green Valley Terrace Nursing Home.
Funeral services will be 7:30 p.m. today in Parsell Funeral Homes & Crematorium, 16961 Kings Highway, Lewes, where the family will receive friends starting at 6 p.m.
Interment will be 11 a.m. Saturday in Gracelawn Memorial Park, 2220 N. DuPont Highway, New Castle.
Instead of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions to Delaware Hospice, 20167 Office Circle, Georgetown, DE 19947; or a charity of choice.
