DOVER - Dorothy L. Wilson passed away in her home on Aug. 16, 2017.
She was born Mar. 11, 1928 in Philadelphia, Pa., to Elwood M. and Ida R. Birney. She was preceded in death by her husband of 34 years, Allen H. Wilson; two sons, Robert A., Tobin V. Wilson; and a brother, Francis W. Birney.
She is survived by her beloved children, Leah D. Brown, Timothy G. Wilson Sr., Janice D. Hill; and five grandchildren who were her precious gems from God, Gail F. Hamblin, Timothy Gary Wilson Jr., Jerry B. Brown II, Tobin D. Wilson, and Destiny Y. Hill; three beautiful great-grandchildren, Natalie G., Calvin A. and Aurora D. Hamblin.
She also leaves behind a brother, George N. Birney; and a sister, Betty J. Zlock; and a host of nieces, nephews, and spiritual brothers and sisters.
Dorothy had been a homemaker for most of her life and loved caring for her own as well as anyone else's children who needed her. She cherished spending time with her family and especially her grandchildren who were the light of her life, sharing God's word with them and instructing them from it as she had done with her own. She was a woman of deep faith and aspired to share her faith and hope with all she met. She looked forward to being reunited with those loved ones she had lost in death (John 5;28, 29) and would want all whom she loved and loved her to put faith in Jehovah God's promise of a earth filled with righteousness that he holds out for the future. (PS.37:10,11) She was a loving and forgiving woman and will be missed dearly until we can be with her again.
A memorial service is planned for Monday, Oct. 23, 2017 at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, 1260 W. State College Rd., Dover, at 3:30 p.m. No flowers please.
