Dorothy 'Dot' Isaacs Hall, 85
MILFORD - Dorothy "Dot" Isaacs Hall, of Milford, passed away Friday, March 21, 2008, at Bayhealth-Milford Memorial Hospital, surrounded by her family. She was 85.
Mrs. Hall was born Oct. 24, 1922, in Milford, daughter of the late John S. and Mary C. (Lofland) Isaacs.
She graduated from West Chester State Teachers College in 1944. Mrs. Hall was a substitute teacher for 10 years with the Milford Elementary School, but was a full time homemaker most of her life.
She enjoyed knitting, crocheting and china painting, and loved being outside in the yard gardening.
Mrs. Hall was a member of Kent Chapter 11 of the Order of the Eastern Star, the Milford New Century Club and the Red Hat Society.
She was a 59-year member of Avenue United Methodist Church, Milford, where she was active in the Naomi Circle and many other church activities. She was also involved in the community Bible study group.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Howard Isaacs and Earl Isaacs.
She is survived by her husband of 64 years, W. Nelson Hall; two sons and daughters-in-law, Dr. Greg D. and Karen Hall of Unionvilla, Pa., and Dr. Stephen K. and Patricia Hall of Fair Oak, Calif.; a brother, Harry H. Isaacs of Ellendale; and four grandchildren, Christopher Hall, Katie Hall, Jennifer Hall and Julia Hall.
Services will be 1 p.m. Tuesday at Avenue United Methodist Church, Milford, where friends may call two hours prior to the service. Burial will be at Barratt's Chapel Cemetery, Frederica.
Instead of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions to Avenue United Methodist Church, 20 N. Church St., Milford, DE 19963.
