DOVER - Dorothy Ellen Pistorio of Dover, Delaware formerly of Bel Air, Maryland passed away on February 9, 2022 at Bay Health Kent General of Dover, Delaware.
Born July 19, 1948 to Dorothy Mary Buschmann and Ferdinand Joseph Buschmann.
Dottie Ellen worked in a nursing home as a nursing assistant. She loved doing hair and had her own business. Her greatest enjoyment came from being a wife, mother and grandmother and great grandmother. Dottie was especially close to her oldest granddaughter Jamie Stiars who she had a special bond. She loved going on family trips to Hershey Park and Disney World. Dottie loved watching Law and Order, Dean Martin, John Wayne Movies and Elvis Presley. She also loved her grand pups Penny, Scooby-Doo and Lucy. Dottie married the love of her life Paul Anthony Pistorio with whom she had an ice cream and food truck business. She was a member of the New Castle Moose Family Center Lodge 1578 of Middletown, Delaware.
Dottie Ellen was preceded in death by her parents, Dorothy and Ferdinand Buschmann; husband, Paul Pistorio; sister, named Dorothy Ellen who she was named after; and brother, Walter J. Buschmann.
She is survived by her daughter, Katherine Custer and husband (Leo) of Dover, Del.; son, Joseph Ferdinand Pistorio, Sr. (Dana) of Dover, Del; five grandchildren, Jacob Custer (Jasmin) of Lancaster, Pa., Jamie Stiars (Ramon) of Salisbury, Md., Kevin Moore (Nicole) of Hanover, Pa., Caitlyn Michalak (Josh) of Pasadena, Md., Joseph (Joey) Pistorio of Ridgley, Md.; and seven great-grandchildren, Athena Dacorte, Benjamin (Ben) Custer, Ramon, Maria, Juan, Leo Calles, Dakota Moore; sister, Katherine Clemens (Eric) of Monkton, Md.; and several nieces, nephews; and significant other, Benjamin Marker.
Celebration of Life will be March 19, 2022 at Harrington Moose Family Center Lodge #534, 16268 South Dupont Hwy., Harrington, DE 19952, at 1 p.m. Burial will be private.
