BALTIMORE - Dorothy Dorene Jackson, of Baltimore, formerly of Deal Island, died Tuesday, Nov. 20, 2007, in the Good Samaritan Hospital, Baltimore, after a lengthy illness. She was 47.
Born on June 20, 1960, in Deal Island, to the late Isaac Tilghman and Barbara Davis, she was a graduate of Washington Senior High School.
Dorothy was employed with Quest Diagnostics of Baltimore until her health began to fail.
She is survived by her husband André Jackson of Baltimore; mother and stepfather, Barbara and Emerson Davis of Deal Island; son, Brandon Maddox of Princess Anne; three stepchildren, André Jackson Jr., James Jackson and Taleshia Jackson, all of Baltimore; sisters, Felice (Alvin), Althea (Terry), and Izetta Tilghman, all of Salisbury; two brothers, the Rev. Andrew Tilghman of Dover, Del., and Anthony Tilghman of Salisbury; mother and father-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Robert Jackson of Baltimore; ex-husband and best friend, Milton Maddox of Princess Anne; and several nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of friends.
A viewing will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday in the Bennie Smith Funeral Home, 30479 Prince William St., Princess Anne.
Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Saturday in the John Wesley United Methodist Church, Deal Island, where friends may call two hours prior.
Interment will be in the John Wesley United Methodist Church Cemetery, Deal Island.
