Dorothy B. Urie, 80

BARCLAY, Md. - Dorothy B. Urie, 80, of Barclay, died July 21, 2009, in Chester River Hospital, Chestertown, Md. Mrs. Urie was born on July 21, 1929, in Elgin, Texas, daughter of the late Floyd and Mamie Nash Smith. She was raised in Texas and had lived in California before moving to Barclay in 1966. Mrs. Urie had worked for Vita Foods and for the past 24 years at Dixon Valve in the accounting department, retiring in April, 2009. She was a member of the Chestertown Seventh-Day Adventist Church and enjoyed listening to Southern Gospel music. She was preceded in death by her first husband, LeRoy Mack; and a sister, Esther Evans. Mrs. Urie is survived by her husband of 43 years, Donald Urie; four children and their spouses, Earl and Gail Mack of Yucaipa, Calif., Kay and Jim Price of Jersey, Va., Ed and Linda Mack of Berrien Center, Mich., and Kevin and Penny Urie of Millington, Md.; four sisters, Stella Barr of Bakersfield, Calif., Juanita Lucas of Altus, Okla., Betty Tiffee of Tiller, Ore., and Mary Hudson of Highland, Calif.; and eight grandchildren, Andrew Mack, Shelly Mack, Seth Price, James Price, III, David Mack, Laurie Mack, Stephanie Urie and Jessica Urie. A Memorial service will be 4 p.m. Saturday, July 25 in the Chestertown Seventh-Day Adventist Church, Chestertown, where friends may call after 3 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be offered to the Chestertown Seventh-Day Adventist Church 305 N.
