
DOVER - Dorothy B. Hutson passed away, Tuesday, Mar. 7, 2017, at Kent General Hospital. Surrounded by her loving daughters, Nancy and Pat.
Mrs. Hutson was born, Oct. 25, 1926, in Wilmington, to Franklin Temple Boyer and Elizabeth Twigg Boyer.
She worked at Playtex as a line worker before starting her career as a homemaker. Mrs. Hutson attended Asbury United Methodist Church in Smyrna. She enjoyed her family trips to Sunset Park, in Willow Grove, Pa., where the family enjoyed the largest country and western celebrities of that day. Mrs. Hutson truly loved their family vacations in Atlantic City, N.J., where they spent a week every year, during the summer. She enjoyed Dr. Charles Stanley, and could always be found watching him on Saturday evenings. Mrs. Hutson loved the Lord, reading scripture, singing hymns, and listening to country western music. She was particularly fond of her sons-in-law, Bobby and Dave, for all they did for her.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 48 years, C. Thomas Hutson; a son, Thomas James Hutson; a daughter, Penny L. Hutson; a grandson, Dennis W. Hutson, Jr.; and brothers, Walter and Edger Boyer, whom she dearly loved.
She is survived by her children, Dorothia Steininger, Dee Ann Fagan and her husband, Ron, Nancy Nechay-Johns and her husband Dave, all of Dover, Patricia Riddagh and her husband, Bob, of Smyrna, and Dennis W. Hutson, Sr. and his wife, Brenda, of Dover; grandchildren, Loretta, John, Thomas, Robert, Stephanie, Wesley, Diamond, Jason, Matthew, Jessica, Kimberly, Eryn, Marc and Ashley; seventeen great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, Mar. 11, 2017, at Torbert Funeral Chapel South, 1145 E. Lebanon Rd. (Rt.10), Dover. Friends may call one hour prior.
Interment will be private.
