Dorothy Ann Russ, 78

DOVER - Dorothy Ann Russ, of Artis Drive, Dover, passed away Tuesday Jan. 27, 2009, in her home with family Dover. She was 78. She was born on Aug. 7, 1930, in Lexington, Mass., to the late Victor and Katharine Taylor Saltsgaver. She came to Dover in 1963 and she is preceded in death by her husband, Ralph Louis Russ in 1998. She was a member of Order of the Eastern Star, Victory Chapter 15, Past Worthy Matron, International Order of Job's Daughters, Past Grand Guardian, Hospice Volunteer for 25 years and Charter Member of the Dover Office, Modern Maturity Center Volunteer, Meals on Wheels, Peoples United Church of Christ and Choir, Delaware Choral Society, Volunteer for Kent General Hospital. She is survived by daughters, Vicky Healey of Felton, Diana and Douglas Oswell of Dover, and Sandra and Philip Fred of Dover; brother and his wife, Eugene and Doris Saltsgaver of Maynard, Mass.; granddaughters, Michelle Oswell, Katharine Oswell Meinberg, and Angela Healey and her fiancé Jason Raksnis; grandson, Doug Oswell III; great-grandchildren, 3.75, Sam, Isaac, Charlotte, and one on the way. Celebration of Life Service will be held noon Saturday at Peoples United Church of Christ 46 South Bradford St. Dover. Burial will be in the Sharon Hill Memorial Park, Dover.
