Gull, 45 Moline, Ill. - Dorothy A. "Dottie" Gull, 45, of Moline, Ill., formerly of Milford, died Tuesday, March 10, 2015 at home after a brief illness. Dottie was born February 14, 1970 in Dover, the daughter of Robert Allen and Mary Ann (Chicosky) Speakman. She worked as a nurse for Delaware Hospice for many years, before moving to Illinois, where she worked as a nurse for Genesis Hospice and Heartland Hospice. She was a selfless person, who put everyone else's needs before her own. Dottie was a ham radio operator, with the call sign KA3QCY, and was a member of the American Radio Relay League as well as various nursing organizations. She loved boating and all water sports, camping and running. She is survived by her three children, John Gull, Andrew Gull and Lauren Gull, all of Bettendorf, Iowa; her father and step-mother, Robert and Mary Speakman, of Felton; her mother, Mary Ann Chicosky, of Millsboro; her twin brother, Bobby Speakman, of Felton; her fiancee', Don Sturgell and his sons Drew and Cody; as well as her beloved dog, Ladybug. A visitation will be 2 p.m. to 3:30 p.m., Saturday, March 21, 2015 at the Lofland Funeral Home, 102 Lakeview Avenue, Milford. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers the family requests contributions be made to Delaware Hospice, 100 Patriots Way, Milford, DE 19963.
