BETTERTON, Md. - Doris Stafford Clark of Betterton, passed away on Tuesday, March 29, 2011, at Chestertown Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. She was 82 years old. Mrs. Clark was born on April 5, 1928, in Laurel Springs, N.J., the daughter of the late John Edmund and Helen Rexon Stafford. She was a member of the Chestertown Garden Club, Questors Cadwalader of Kent, the Laureate Tau Chapter of Beta Sigma Phi, and was very active in the PTA while her children were in school. She was also a member of Shrewsbury Episcopal Church in Kennedyville and a member of the Flying Farmers. She enjoyed cotillion, socials and dancing and loved her pets. Mrs. Clark is survived by a daughter; Doris C. "Sissy" Yowell and her husband John of Betterton; a son, Robert W. Clark Jr. and his wife Jo of Betterton; six grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she is predeceased by her husband Robert W. Clark Sr. in 2008. Funeral services will be held on Friday, April 1, 2011 at Shrewsbury Episcopal Church at 11 a.m. Interment will be in Shrewsbury Cemetery following the service.
