Doris Rouch Bowman, 80
WYOMING - Doris Rouch Bowman of Wyoming died Thursday, Oct. 4, 2007, in Bayhealth-Kent General Hospital, Dover. She was 80.
Mrs. Bowman was born Jan. 14, 1927, in Wyoming, where she spent all of her life.
Mrs. Bowman was a homemaker and enjoyed gardening, shopping and the holidays, especially decorating for Christmas for the children.
She loved being with family and her grandchildren and was always there for them.
Mrs. Bowman was a member of the Harvest Years Senior Center, Camden, and the Modern Maturity Center, Dover, where she volunteered for many years.
She was always willing to volunteer whenever needed; she never knew the word no.
Mrs. Bowman touched so many lives.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, Ernest Daniel "Dick" Bowman, in 2005; and her daughter, Doreen Rife, in 1998.
Mrs. Bowman is survived by her son, Gary R. Bowman and his wife Marti of Wyoming; her daughter, Darlene Washburn and her husband Larry of Magnolia; four grandchildren, Holly Washburn of Magnolia, Hope Bellois of Pensacola, Fla., Chantel Cloak and her husband Edward of Wyoming, and Daniel Washburn of Magnolia; three great-grandsons, Garry, Correy and Aidan; and two step-great-grandchildren, Shawna Kerrick and Rebekah Kerrick, both of Wyoming.
Memorial services will be 3:30 p.m. Monday in Torbert Funeral Chapel South, 1145 E. Lebanon Road, Dover, where friends may call one hour prior.
Interment will be private.
Instead of flowers, the family suggests contributions to The Harvest Years Senior Center, 30 South St., Camden, DE 19934.
