MIDDLETOWN - Doris I. Bailey of Middletown died Wednesday, Jan. 17, 2007, in her home, with her family by her side. She was 82.
Mrs. Bailey was born May 30, 1924, in Altoona, Pa., daughter of the late Leila and Alvin Griffith.
She married Earlwood Bailey of Orrick, Mo., on Oct. 16, 1942.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 52 years, Earlwood Bailey; seven siblings; a son, Earl D. Bailey; a daughter, Darlene S. Bailey; a granddaughter, Lauren D. Bailey; and two grandsons, Michael J. Smith and Bryan S. Bailey.
She is survived by a daughter, Velma "Sue" Joyce and her husband James; two sons and their wives, Wayne A. and Chris Bailey and Keith L. and Debbie Bailey; four sisters, Phyllis Jaques, Iris Moseley, Priscilla Strazella and Leila Otto; a daughter-in-law, Lorraine Bailey; two brothers, Paul Griffith and Gilbert Griffith; 11 grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren.
Graveside services will be 11 a.m. Saturday in Gracelawn Memorial Park Chapel, 2220 N. DuPont Parkway, New Castle.
Instead of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions to Delaware Hospice of Dover, 911 S. DuPont Highway, Dover, DE 19901.
