CAMDEN/WYOMING - Doris G. Thompson Davis, of Camden/Wyoming, passed away Monday March 23, 2009, in Bayhealth-Kent General Hospital in Dover after a long battle with breast cancer. She was 61. She was born on Aug. 25, 1947, in Dover to the late Harry and Gladys and Elliot Thompson. Doris graduated from Caesar Rodney High School. She worked at Playtex in Dover for over 35 years and Family Dollar in Dover until her health declined and was no longer able. Doris enjoyed singing and playing music, playing Yahtzee and cards with friends and family, shooting pool and riding motorcycles with her husband and friends. She is preceded in death by her husband, Eric Davis. She is survived by her son and his wife, Stephen and Heather Thompson; grandchildren, Brittney, Kevin, and Keith Thompson; sister, Jane Jones; sister and her husband, Doretta and Chris Ford; brother, George Thompson; brother and his wife, Harry and Rosie Thompson; sister-in-law, Julie Davis; aunts, Dale Ringer and Terry Dwyer; and dear friends, Gail Kemp, Missy Scott, and Martha Myers. Memorial services will be held noon Saturday at Edgehill Church of God in Dover. Burial will be at the convenience of the family. The family request that memorial contributions be given to Trader Funeral Home 12 Lotus St., Dover, DE 19901 to defray the cost of funeral arrangements.
