DOVER - Doris E. Schlaupitz passed away on January 29, 2021. She was born on December 24, 1929 in Milford, Del., the daughter of the late Conrad and Lyda (Darby) Fassel.
Mrs. Schlaupitz attended the Milford School District. She retired from Playtex after many years of service with the company. She was an avid reader and loved to shop. She also enjoyed traveling with her husband and family whether it be day trips or for longer vacations, especially at the beach. She loved spending time with her grandchildren and listening to the stories of how their lives were unfolding.
She was greatly loved and will be truly missed.
Mrs. Schlaupitz is survived by her husband of 42 years, Warner H. Schlaupitz of Dover, Del.; her stepchildren, Warner Kip Schlaupitz and his wife Laura of Wyoming, Del., Marcia (Schlaupitz) Messina and her husband Anthony of Laconia, N.H., Cheryl (Schlaupitz) Arsenault of Indiana; and her sister, Leta Paris of Milford, Del. She is also survived by a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents; she was preceded in death by her brother, Conrad Fassel, Jr.; and her sisters, Ruth McGee and Marie Emory.
A funeral service will be 11 a.m. Monday, February 8, 2021 at the Pippin Funeral Home, 119 W. Camden Wyoming Avenue, Wyoming, DE 19934 where there will be a viewing from 10 a.m. until 11 a.m. Monday. An attempt will be made to livestream. COVID-19 protocol will be in effect (Max 50 people in the funeral home at once). Burial will be private.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be made to the American Heart Association, 200 Continental Drive, Suite 101, Newark, DE 19713 or to Delaware Hospice, 100 Patriots Way, Milford, DE 19963.
